MySQL/PostgreSQL Performance – Reliability Engineering

We are looking for an exceptional Database engineer to support our mission of creating and managing critical databases. You will be working alongside young brightest minds in the country to help build a robust DB platform, that “all the other companies” can use. You are willing to dive deep into gnarly operational issues of data availability and durability. This is a high-impact opportunity as your work will integrate directly with all our service products.

Minimum 5+ years of experience.

About you

  • You possess an advanced knowledge in engineering and managing MySQL or PostgreSQL database server for high traffic applications
  • Exceptional expertise in working with Distributed Systems and Linux
  • Proficient in setting up and operating highly available SQL
  • Expertise in debugging time critical DB problems like deadlock analysis and transaction locking and related issues
  • Hands on coding experience in Bash shell scripts, Python, C/C++ and SQL
  • Experience working with Percona and innoDB engine
  • Ruby, AWS would be a big plus
  • Exposure to different MySQL HA technologies like XtraDB cluster and Native Plugin would be an added advantage.


  • A Data Base Enthusiast – You will build a platform that Supports large number of concurrent users (primarily using MySQL or PostgreSQL)
  • You are an innovative problem-solver who can take complete responsibility of your component from design, development, test, and deployment.
  • You can Build innovative monitoring systems that monitors the Computing infrastructure and the DB engine and reduces component failures.
  • You will work on building test suites to ensure the testing of system boundaries
  • You value and ensure uptime service and build efficient solutions to reduce component failure
  • Work towards improving memory management, I/O tuning, cluster management, sharding, Data durability, security, networking, and system crash analysis
  • You have a good understanding of Agile SDLC.
