Principal Partner Solution Architect – World Famous US startup in Bengaluru!

As a Principal Partner Solution Architect you will help drive and scale our partnerships with the world’s largest and most innovative solution providers that are designing and delivering successful digital transformation projects (powered by our Data Platform) to enterprises across the globe.

You will be a member of the Business Development organization and responsible  for recruiting and managing partnerships that bring key capabilities to deliver new and repeatable solutions across industry verticals that ultimately help influence or source new or expanded customer relationships and revenue.

This role works directly with cross functional leaders from sales, sales engineering, professional services, technical support, product management and engineering in designing and documenting reference architectures, best practices, demos and other sales resources.  This position will serve as a key in-field evangelist and architect covering a variety of exciting technology areas, including big/fast data, mobile, IoT, data integration and streaming, containers & Kubernetes orchestration, and other public cloud technologies and reference stacks. Successful candidates will have a combination of technical, commercial and strategic thinking skills and experiences. You must be a strong communicator, passionate and energetic, technically competent, detail oriented, and able to effectively influence both within the organization and with our external customers and partners. Operating with the highest integrity, you are action-oriented, innovative and customer focused.

What you’ll achieve in your first 3 months:

  • Learn. Become familiar with our products and services, positioning, and competition
  • Establish internal relationships and become comfortable with team communication and collaboration tools
  • Build rapport with existing (external) strategic partner teams
  • Become competent with current solutions in-market as well as solutions in-development
  • Organize and facilitate various technical briefings.
  • Develop working partnerships with the sales account teams supporting our customers.
  • Begin to support joint customer sales activities to understand and architect for their use cases

What you’ll achieve in your first 12 months:

  • Be viewed by certain strategic partners as the go-to technical subject matter expert
  • Facilitate, document and demonstrate partner solutions to field and customers
  • Begin to prioritize and develop recommendations for new repeatable solutions
  • Develop 3 new Reference Architectures and conduct various webinars in support of launch
  • Support multiple new and expanded Customer bookings influenced or sourced by GSI partners
  • Cultivate new and expanded relationships with key India-based GSIs
  • Recognize demand signals and patterns to influence  product roadmap priorities

Job Location



• 10+ years working with Global System Integrator and Consulting partners at an Enterprise Technology vendor with a customer and partner facing position such as presales or post-sales. •10+ years’ experience in traditional RDBMS and/or NoSQL databases, including data modeling. Direct exposure to Couchbase, Cassandra, MongoDB, Aerospike, MarkLogic, Redis, Basho and Hadoop is preferable, but not required. • 10+ years’ experience with Linux, Windows and their ecosystems, including bash, Python and GitHub.

About you

  • Familiarity with Open Source Software ecosystems (e.g. CNCF, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Node, Go, .NET or Objective C.
  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the cloud ecosystem and emerging technologies.  Familiarity and demonstrated curiosity and experimentation with various products and technologies, including Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, Kafka, Confluent, Spark, DataBricks, Mesosphere, Docker, Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Spring, Eclipse Che, Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure, TensorFlow and other AI/ML libraries.
  • Passionate about the mobile and IoT ecosystem, including Android, iOS, IoT field gateways and distributed systems with intermittent connectivity.
  • Good knowledge of datacenter architecture covering multi datacenter and global deployments.


  • Working with GSIs to demonstrate the benefits of our Data Platform and integrate those capabilities within various horizontal and vertical offerings. Building technical integrations, demos, reference architectures and supporting documentation are key deliverables.
  • Serve as a critical team member and liaison to GSI Partner Sales and overlay teams to help identify, qualify and facilitate proof of concepts (POCs) in collaboration with field and solution engineering teams.
  • Supporting our direct sales teams when they leverage partner solutions at customers
  • Creating technical and marketing collateral describing partner integrations and/or solutions
  • Developing and delivering exceptional technical product presentations and demonstrations 1:1 and 1:many
  • Engagement of the partner community through attendance at technology events, writing blog posts and delivering presentations at trade shows
  • Partner education and maximizing product success through effective coaching and product positioning


Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical field with MS, or commensurate experience
  • Technical competence and credibility with a variety of technical audience including developers, architects, database administrators (DBAs), etc.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills directed at both business and technical audiences; ability to express complex solutions in a concise manner
  • Experience working at an Enterprise Software company in a customer or partner facing function such as presales, post-sales, architect or consulting
  • Creative and adaptive approach to removing obstacles and accelerating the integration efforts
  • Organized, diligent and energetic team player that is able to thrive in a sales-led culture and can contribute to surfacing, qualifying and winning customer opportunities with GSIs
  • Primary location in Bengaluru, India with ability to travel to both partner and customer sites 25% or more
